Q.) Will the Prodigy® work with Electric-Hydraulic Brakes?
A.) Tekonsha® brake controls are designed to operate electric brakes that are activated by magnets. They have not been tested for the use on electric/hydraulic brake systems. Please contact the manufacturer of the hydraulic control unit for their recommendations.
Q.) The Display shows "PL".
A.) The Prodigy® detected a power loss on the Black wire during a braking event. Possible Causes:
· Applied brake pedal or manual lever while connecting Prodigy to power.
· Poor connection on Black wire.
· Faulty control.
Q.) The Display shows "og" or "OG".
A.) The Prodigy® detects an open ground. The Prodigy® needs to have a voltage on the Black wire and a good ground on the White wire to operate. Possible Causes:
· Bad ground connection on White wire.
· Faulty Control.
Q.) The Display is blank.
A.) The Prodigy® will go into a Sleep Mode after approximately 15 minutes of detecting no movement or input. Possible Causes:
· Prodigy went into sleep mode.
· No power on Black wire.
· Bad ground on the White wire.
· Faulty control.
Q.) The Display shows one dot or the display shows two dots.
A.) The left dot is the power indicator. Meaning that the Prodigy is powered up and ready. The right dot is the Boost indicator. This tells you that there is a level of boost active.
Q.) The top or bottom horizontal bars are flashing.
A.) If the top bars are flashing, this tells you that the Prodigy is mounted at too steep of an angle. If the bottom bars are flashing, this tells you that the Prodigy is mounted at too low of an angle.
Q.) No "C" displayed with trailer connected or "NC" is displayed with trailer connected.
A.) The Prodigy® has to have a complete circuit on the Blue wire to the brake magnets and then to ground, with the proper resistance. Possible Causes:
· Open on electric brake circuit (Blue wire)
· Power backfeed on Blue wire.
· Open on ground circuit of trailer or truck.
· Trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes.
· Faulty control.
Q.) The Display shows "SH".
A.) The Prodigy® detects a short to ground on the brake wire (Blue wire). The Prodigy has to have a complete circuit from the control to the brake magnets to the ground and has to have the proper resistance. Possible Causes:
· Short to ground on the brake circuit wire.
· Trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes.
· Faulty control.
Q.) The Display shows "OL".
A.) The Prodigy® detects an overload caused by a short to ground on the brake wire (Blue wire). The Prodigy has to have a complete circuit from the control to the brake magnets to the ground and has to have the proper resistance. Possible Causes:
· Short to ground on the brake circuit wire.
· Trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes.
· Faulty control.
