A.) You need to have a trailer connected before the LED will come on. The Envoy® needs to have a complete circuit to ground on the Blue wire through the brake magnets for the Green LED to come on. Possible Causes:
· No trailer connected.
· No power on Black wire.
· Bad ground on White wire.
· Open in brake circuit wire.
· Truck and Trailer miswired.
· Faulty control.
Q.) 2-volts are showing on the Blue wire all the time.
A.) This is normal operation. The Envoy® sends a low current voltage, checking for the trailer. Once the Envoy® has a complete circuit to ground on the Blue wire, then the Green light will come on and the voltage will disappear.
Q.) Will the Envoy® work with Electric-Hydraulic Brakes?
A.) Tekonsha® brake controls are designed to operate electric brakes that are activated by magnets. They have not been tested for the use on electric/hydraulic brake systems. Please contact the manufacturer of the hydraulic control unit for their recommendations.
Q.) There is no Green light with the trailer connected.
A.) The Envoy® has to have a complete circuit to ground through the brake magnets on the Blue wire to turn the Green light on. Possible Causes:
· Trailer not connected properly or completely.
· No power on Black wire.
· Bad ground on White wire.
· Open in brake circuit wire.
· Truck and Trailer miswired.
· Power back feed on brake circuit (Blue wire).
· Faulty control.
Q.) The Green light goes out when applying the brake pedal.
A.) Possible Causes:
· Power back feed on brake circuit (Blue wire).
Q.) The Green light is on all the time, even with out the trailer connected.
A.) The Envoy® is detecting a complete circuit to ground on the Blue wire. Possible Causes:
· Short to ground on brake circuit wire (Blue wire).
· Corrosion in connector at back of tow vehicle.
· Faulty control.
Q.) I can not level the control.
A.) Possible Causes:
· No trailer connected.
· No power on Black wire.
· Bad ground on White wire.
· No power on Red wire with brake pedal depressed.
· Open in brake circuit wire.
· Control mounted out of range.
· Truck and Trailer miswired.
· Faulty control.
